Ring Astra

Astra, meaning 'to the stars'.

Ring with 2 Ethiopian opal gemstones. The large stone is quite milky and has nice subtile colortones in it. The smaller stone is a little bit more yellowish. 

Set in 925 silver bezels. The bezels are rough and hammered to give the ring a playful look.

The band is hand stamped with details and splits open near the top of the ring.

Note about opals:

Opals, being delicate stones, should not be worn during activities such as cleaning, working out, or gardening. Do not expose opals to drastic temperature changes as this can lead to cracking.

Ethiopian Opals are not suitable for water exposure as they are "hydrophane," meaning they absorb water and alter their appearance. When these Opals encounter water, they absorb it like a sponge.

If Opals are soaked in water and absorb it, they might temporarily lose their fire. Once the opals have completely dried, their fire and color should return; this process can vary from a day to a few weeks based on the amount of water absorbed.
